If you read any sailing blog they will all talk about the sailing community. I have heard and read about it a lot, yet it has not become more real than it has here in the South Pacific. Part of it may come from being in lock down together and getting to know one another well. The other possibility is that so many of us have just made the biggest leap of our lives and we have that experience in common. What ever the reason we are all connected no mater where we are. As I move around from one anchorage to the next I see boats and crews that I have seen elsewhere. If there is not a familiar vessel there there is defiantly one that we have friends in common and bonds are formed fast. So even though I live in a mobile home and move from place to place I have a community every where. Nothing like having your friends from Panama, Galapagos, Caribbean, and new ones daily around to share new adventures, places, and experiences. Just as everything some come and some go but it is just until we see each other again in a new neighborhood.
